Dr. Schrimmer received her BA in psychology and philosophy at Boston College, and her MA in school psychology and counseling at Tufts University. Her PhD in clinical psychology was awarded by Adelphi University's Derner Institute. A clinical psychologist licensed in NJ, Dr. Schrimmer has school psychology certifications in MA, NY, and NJ. Research investigations have included Ecotherapy, group therapy, Autism diagnosis/therapy, the treatment needs of the queer community, and the variables linked to psychotherapy satisfaction. Dr. Schrimmer is trained in Cognitive Processing Trauma therapy and in providing comprehensive and norm-referenced psychological evaluations. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Schrimmer has taught at area undergraduate and graduate programs, including Seton Hall and CUNY. Currently she is on faculty at Rutgers, supervising doctoral students in psychological testing and psychotherapy. Dr. Schrimmer was invited by APA's Division 49 (Group Therapy) to present her Ecotherapy research at the 2022 national convention. Her practice is informed by psychoanalytic, existential, and cognitive research.
